Will is a fantasy writer and wanted his wedding suit to be a reflection of his creative pursuits. He needed natural colors with fantastical elements that didn’t look like a costume and wouldn’t be too hot on a summer evening in Temecula, California. His bride Meg’s dress was an elegant yet simple sheath.
Our challenge was to give Will a unique style that didn’t draw attention away from Meg and allowed him to rap his wedding vows without sweating to death.
I chose a cut with timeless Western influences, created an unstructured jacket out of a silky lightweight fabric, and hid a patterned brocade under the jacket as the vest. It was a fun reveal when he whipped off the jacket to dance.
